Simplicity
Simplicity is a virtue. Those who live simply have very few needs, so they are not selfish or greedy. This way they can also help other and be charitable.
The Simplicity Of Prophet Muhammad (SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam):
Our Prophet (SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) led a very simple life and preached to his companions and all Muslims to do the same. Even as the head of the state in Madina, he lived modestly. He never built a house for himself. His wives had rooms next to the Masjid-e-Nabvi.
His food and clothes were very simple too. His food usually consisted of dates and barley, and sometimes goat milk. He did not like rich food and always ate a little less than his appetite. His clothes were white and always very clean. If his clothes were worn out, he would repair and darn them himself. He slept on a mattress filled with date bark.
Simplicity In The Life Of Companions:
Our Prophet(SallAllahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) companions followed his examples and adopted simplicity in their lives. As Muslims, we too, must learn to live simply. We must try to understand the needs of our family, friends, and others, and share our blessings with them.
Nobility And Dignity In Simplicity:
There is nobility and dignity in simplicity. By avoiding useless and showy things, we can devote more time and money to a good cause or charity.
